And let me tell you, by God, we are proud of it.  It is part of our identity.  We make a conscious choice to dig our heels in and bring you brilliant, interesting and challenging new music from our little home in Florence, Alabama.  You'd have to drag us out of here.

Some of you out there might have some preconceived notions about what we think or believe... or how we treat our communities (all of them)... or how we react to the current state of affairs, just based on where we live.
But that's not what we're talking about today.

We're talking about children.  Kids.  Babies.  The "least of these."

Honestly, we think this is something that both sides should be able to agree on.  Children should be protected and assisted.
Not just republican or democrat children.  Not just white children.  Not just financially fortunate children.  Not just American children.

All children.

Watching what's been happening at our border has really bothered us here at Single Lock.  But it's also made us think about that-- all children.  We've all spent time in Central America and are painfully aware of the situation along our southern border.  But we also spend our days right here in Northwest Alabama.  How can we think globally and act locally... and spread some joy at the same time?

Starting today, we'll sell you a discounted CD bundle or a Vinyl LP bundle...

"three cd's or lp's for the least of these"

...and we're gonna take $5 from that and donate it to these charities:

The mission of the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights is to promote the best interests of unaccompanied immigrant children with due regard to the child’s expressed wishes, according to the Convention on the Rights of the Child and state and federal law.

The Young Center is a champion for the best interests of children who arrive in the United States on their own, from all corners of the world. We serve as trusted allies for these children while they are in deportation proceedings, advocating for their best interests, and standing for the creation of a dedicated children’s immigrant justice system that ensures the safety and well-being of every child.

The National Court Appointed Special Advocate Association, together with its state and local member programs, supports and promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy so every abused or neglected child in the United States can be safe, have a permanent home and the opportunity to thrive.
SHOALS CASA has been serving our community since 2002.
We serve both the Colbert and Lauderdale Court Systems and our office is conveniently located in the center of the Shoals community just south of O’Neal Bridge in Sheffield, Alabama.

Update: our sale has ended, but we encourage you donate directly to the Young Center for Immigrant Children's Rights and Shoals CASA, if you feel so inclined. You can do that at the two links provided above.

Thank you for your ongoing support of these outstanding organizations!
