So… what do you do with a poster for a show that never happened?
It’s a question we’ve been asking ourselves since the cancellation of the Alabama Boogie, due to the coronavirus pandemic. And today, we think we’ve found a good answer.
Even in times of crisis, we often forget about the poor and marginalized. Sadly, the poverty gap is a hallmark of American society in 2020. You can see the evidence right now, from a metropolis like New York City all the way down to a small town like Florence, Alabama.
Who cares for those in the margins in a time when we’re hyper-focused on caring for ourselves?
We’ve found an organization in town called COMMON GROUND SHOALS, and they are working hard to make sure our community’s children— the kids that depend on school for meals— are not forgotten and are fed. As you can imagine, that takes a huge effort… not only to keep everything sanitary, but also to simply pay for the food and supplies. So let’s help.
We have 50 of these Alabama Boogie posters, pictured here, sized 18x24 inches. We’re going to sell the posters for $30—shipping included. It’s a one-time sale, and the proceeds will go towards COMMON GROUND SHOALS efforts to feed our community’s kids.
