The debut full-length from wing shack owner and former elementary school teacher Thad Saajid (Thaddeus Rowell), Get Ready With Me merges gospel roots with funk and soul-drenched R&B into a genre-spanning groove that feels both modern and timeless. The album unfolds like a day in motion, beginning in the early-morning dreamscape of “Sleep Mentations” and moving through the anxieties, routines, frustrations, and fleeting joys that follow.

Woven throughout Get Ready With Me are intro and altro outtakes of Thad’s Field Notes, a series of group conversations he led while recording at Sun Drop Sound. Part creative exercise, part therapy session, the recordings run parallel to the album itself, offering candid and often humorous reflections on identity, relationships, work, and the absurdities of modern life. Even the title, Get Ready With Me, plays on the familiar social-media ritual while turning it into something more personal: an invitation to get ready alongside Thad as he moves through a day, a life, and the questions that come with both.
